Big Second Half Leads Eskymos Past Gwinn, 71-53
The Escanaba Eskymos outscored the Gwinn Model Towners, 20-5, in the third quarter, and beat the Gwinn Model Towners, 71-53, Tuesday night in Escanaba.
Peyton Fedell had a game-high 20 points, with Jared Nash adding 16 points and Austin Willette chipping in 13. Gwinn was led by Tucker Taylor and James Harnick, who each had 16 points. Austin Forbes added 13 points for the Model Towners.
The Eskymos led, 20-12, after one quarter, before the Model Towners rallied to tie the game with two minutes left in the half. Escanaba pulled away to lead, 34-29, at the halftime break, then dominated the third quarter as the Model Towners went cold.
Escanaba was playing on back-to-back nights, after hosting Marquette in a make-up game Monday night. The Eskymos improved to 11-7 on the season. Gwinn is 6-13.
