MARQUETTE---The Marquette Redmen beat the Iron Mountain Mountaineers 6-0 in boys varsity soccer in Marquette Tuesday night.
The scoring got started when freshman Max Dawson capitalized from a freshmen Nick Asmus pass. Dawson made it 2-0 off a combination pass from senior Trevor Salmon and sophmore Nick Lindberg.

After halftime, Salmon found the net off a pass from sophmore Axel Vermaat making it 3-0. Junior Connor Johnson blasted in a feed from Dawson before Lindberg scored on a Salmon and Asmus pass combination.
The final goal came from senior Eli Wiitala assisted by senior Mack Vezina.

Sophmore Harrison Anthos faced 3 first half shots in net and none in the second half behind the defense anchored by senior captain Hunter Sides.
"There are some games that as a coach you can’t help but smile, clap your hands, and jump for joy. Tonight was one of those games," Marquette Assistant Coach Collin Lake said. "Offensively we went with a couple new ideas that seemed to work wonderfully."

Marquette improves to 7-5-1 on the season and play at home Thursday night against Kingsford whom they lost to in their previous meeting.
