Norse Drop Exhibition Game To Delta College, 6-5

WELLS---The Bay College Norse baseball team built a 4-1 lead but couldn't hang on, losing to the Delta College Pioneers out of Saginaw, 6-5, Sunday, in Wells Township.

The Pioneers, the defending regional champions, also won two games on Saturday.

Bay scored four runs in the third inning on a two-run double by Tanner Halvorson, an RBI double by Gladstone graduate Cody Frappier, and an RBI single by Nicolas Goebert.

Goebert is a German native who brings a little international flavor to the Norse.

Halvorson was a Wisconsin High School player of the year out of Eau Claire North High School in 2017 before missing a year due to injury.

Ben Snyder started on the mound for Bay and had a quality start, ending in a no-decision. He is a North Central High Schol graduate who played last year for the Lake County College Lancers in northern Illinois.

Gladstone High School graduate Braeden Lamberg is a second-year player for the Pioneers. He injured his shoulder in Saturday's action and did not play on Sunday.

Bay College takes on the Michigan Tech club team in two weeks.
