Soo Native Roque, Teammate Named All-American

The Wisconsin women's hockey duo of senior Abby Roque and junior Daryl Watts were named CCM/AHCA Women's University Division All-Americans on Tuesday.
Roque, a top-three finalist for the 2020 Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award, was named a first-team All-American for the first time in her career while Watts, the NCAA's leading scorer this year, was named a second-team All-American, marking the third-straight year she's earned All-America accolades.
The seventh Badger to be named a top-three finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award, Roque became the 13th player in school history to be named a first-team All-American. The WCHA Player of the Year saved her best season for last as she recorded a career-high in goals with 26, points with 58 while matching her best mark of 32 assists. All three of those marks ranked in the top-10 in the country.
Roque's .656 faceoff percentage was the second-best mark in the country while her 523 faceoff triumphs paced the country. In addition, her nine power-play goals ranked in the top-five in the country as she helped UW set a program record with a 35.2 clip.
A native of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, Roque ends her Badger career in the top-10 in points (170, 9th), assists (114, 7th), plus/minus (+136, 7th), power-play goals (21, 7th) and game-winning goals (15, 8th).
Watts collected her third All-America honor after earning first-team All-America accolades in 2018 and second-team honors in 2019 while playing for Boston College. The Toronto native led the NCAA with 74 points and was the only skater in NCAA women's hockey to average more than 2.00 points per game this year. In addition, Watts became only the fifth Badger to average 2.00 points per game in a season, joining the likes of Meghan Hunter, Hilary Knight, Brianna Decker and Meghan Duggan.
The winger broke the Badgers' school record for assists in a single season with 49, the most in the NCAA since Amanda Kessel tallied 55 during the 2012-13 season. A top-10 finalist for the 2020 Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award, Watts also earned first-team All-WCHA honors during her first year with Wisconsin while also collecting her 200th career point.
