ESCANABA---
Not much went right for the Bay College women' basketball team on Saturday as the Bryant & Stratton Bobcats led from wire to wire in posting an 83-52 victory at the Bay College Gym.

The Norse made just 18 of 65 shot from the floor (27.7%) and connected on only four of 28 three-point attempts.

"Not a great shooting performance for us," Norse Coach Matt Gregory said. "We couldn't get a lot of things going. I think it started out with us being a lot more rushed. Rushed three-pointers. Shooting those shots like we're down 20. It's not obviously how we like to play our offense. We've got to get the ball moving. I thought at times we did, we moved the ball inside out, swung it around, and got some looks. But we couldn't get them to fall."

The Norse trailed after one quarter, 24-16, with Holly Wardynki getting three baskets to keep the team in the game. Trish McGuire retured for the first time in nearly two months after a finger injury, and her basket midway through the second quarter brought Bay to within 33-25.

They would get no closer as the Bobcats (3-7) scored seven straight points, capped by a Tamara Hollins triple that mae it 40-25. Bay cut it to 44-34 early in the third quarter on another Wardynzki basket, but she had to sit with four fouls.

The Bobcats put the game away byu outcoring Bay 16-5 to take a 60-39 lead.

Wardynzki led the Norse (4-10) with 13 points an six rebounds. Lauryn Bloniarz led Bay in rebounding with 12 boards in 22 minutes of play. She scored seven points.

Bryant & Stratton was led by Emmoni Rankins with 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the flooe. The Bobcats got 19 points and seven rebounds from Mikkalla Robertson, and Faith Watkins added 13 rebounds to go along with four points.

The Norse return to action next Saturday at home against Milwakuee Tech. Game time is 12:00 noon. It will be broadcast on Maverick 106.3 and www.radioresultsnetwork.com.
