Dawson Scores Twice As Redmen Blank Ramblers

MARQUETTE--- The Marquette boys varsity soccer defeats Boyne City 2-0 on Tuesday night in Marquette. Junior Max Dawson lead the way scoring both goals in the first half.

The first goal came just 4 minutes into the game off an Axel Vermaat (senior) pass. Then at the 32 minute mark, senior John Weber passed to Vermaat who sent a pass to Dawson for the goal. Senior Harrison Anthos tended net stopping eight shots including a penalty kick in the second half.

"We were good at times and sloppy at times," Redmen CoachDan Salmon said. "There is still plenty to work on. Harrison Anthos was really solid in net when we needed him and the defense bent but didn’t break.”

Marquette improves to 5-0 on the season and travel to Boyne City and Saginaw this weekend.
