Norway Shuts Down North Central For DH Sweep
NORWAY---The Norway High School baseball team took both ends of a doubleheader from the North Central Jets, 5-0 and 10-0, Monday evening at Marion Park. The Knights' pitchers allowed only one total base hit in the twinbill.
In the opener, Nolan Amundson and Alex Ortman combined to throw a six-inning no-hitter. Landon Amundson helped out at the plate by driving in three runs for the Knights.
In the second game, Cole Baij pitched a one-hitter with eight strikeouts in the four inning game. Alex Ortman slugged a solo home run. Eleven different Knights had hits in the game.
Norway improved to 8-3 on the season. NCA fell to 7-7.
Jesse Sampson took the loss in the first game, allowing four runs on four hits and five walks. Connor Florenski took the loss in the second game.
