MARQUETTE, Mich. -
The Northern Michigan University Wildcats closed out senior weekend with a win on Saturday night, beating the Falcons 1-0 to earn the weekend sweep.

A tight checking game through and through, the 'Cats broke through late in the second period, as Connor Eddy recieved a pass from Andre Ghantous and burst down the slot, beating Christian Stoever by the stick side, and giving the 'Cats a lead in the dying minutes of the second period.

The 'Cats shut it down in the final frame as Beni Halasz made 11 saves, the Wildcat defense posted seven blocks, and the 'Cats killed both penalties en route to the 1-0 win.

The Wildcats now improve to 12-14-6 overall and 10-10-4 in CCHA play with 36 points. The Falcons fall to 13-20-1 overall and 11-12-1 in CCHA play with 35 points.

The Wildcats finish the regular season in fifth, and will travel to the fourth-place Minnesota State Mavericks next weekend for the opening round of the playoffs.
