Bay College Women's Hoops Signs Three Yoopers
Bay College women's basketball coach Todd Ciochetto is busy restocking the shelves for next season, less than two weeks after the Norse season ended in the regional semifinals.
Ciochetto on Tuesday officially signed Menominee High School senior Anna Axtall to a National Letter of Intent. She scored more than 1,000 points in her Maroon career.
Also signing with Bay are Lauren Zawada of Bark River-Harris, and Makenna Hendrickson of Baraga. Ciochetto says his goal is to have a full roster of 18 players next season, after playing the just-completed season with ten players.
Bay, in Ciochetto's first season, had the best record in school history. The Norse finished 22-9, after starting the season 4-7 before winning 17 straight games. Bay finished as co-champions of the Michigan Community College Athletic Association North Conference.
