LaChance Breaks Esky Record In Win At Kingsford


KINGSFORD---Escanaba Eskymos senior Bon LaChance has set the school's all-time career record for runs batted in with 92. He broke the record during Escanaba's 6-2 win in Kingsford Tuesday night at Lodal Park. The old record, held by Steve Berg, had stood since 2006.

LaChance already holds the school record for the number of doubles (17).

LaChance had two doubles and a single in the victory, and Ashton Rymkos added an RBI double. Cannon Arnt threw five innings for the pitching win, allowing two runs on six hits. Lenny Peacock pitched the sixth inning, giving up twp base hits but striking out two batters.

Gavin Grondin threw five innings for Kingsford and took the loss, allowing three runs on three hits. Joey Weber finished up, also allowing three runs, on four hits.

Garrett Brown led the Flivver offense with two hits and a run batted in.

The Eskymos, with the win, also tied Kingsford for first place in the Great Northern Conference standings. Both the Eskymos and Flivvers have one conference game remaining in the season.

Escanaba travels to Green Bay Preble for a game Wednesday night.
